Vietnamese Learning App - User Guide
Welcome Visitor!
Some features described in this guide require you to be logged in, such as saving texts, tracking vocabulary, and managing your learning progress.
To access all features, please log in or create an account.
Without an account, you can still browse the guide and use the example Vietnamese texts provided below.
Getting Started
- Create an account or log in using the Sign Up/Login buttons in the navigation bar to unlock all features.
- Once logged in, you'll have access to the main features: Inputs and Words.
- As a visitor, you can explore the example texts below and get familiar with the app's purpose.
Adding Text to Study
- Go to the Inputs tab in the navigation menu.
- Use the text input box to paste or type any Vietnamese text you want to learn from.
- Click the Add Input button to save your text.
- Your text will appear in the list below, processed and ready for study.
Add Vietnamese text in the input box and click "Add Input" to get started.
Note: In the future, an example image will be displayed here.

Xin chào! Tôi đang học tiếng Việt. Tôi thích ngôn ngữ này vì nó rất thú vị. Mỗi ngày tôi học một chút và cố gắng nói chuyện với người Việt Nam. Bạn có thể giúp tôi thực hành không?
Mỗi sáng tôi thức dậy lúc 6 giờ. Tôi ăn sáng và đi làm. Buổi trưa tôi ăn cơm với đồng nghiệp. Sau khi làm việc xong, tôi về nhà và nấu ăn tối. Vào cuối tuần, tôi thường đi chơi với bạn bè hoặc gia đình.
Ẩm thực Việt Nam rất nổi tiếng trên thế giới. Phở là món ăn truyền thống được nhiều người yêu thích. Ngoài ra còn có bánh mì, bún chả và gỏi cuốn. Người Việt Nam cũng thích uống cà phê. Cà phê trứng và cà phê sữa đá là những loại đồ uống phổ biến.
Studying Your Text
- For each text entry, you'll see a preview with the first few words.
- Click Open to see more to expand the full text.
- Words are color-coded to show your learning status:
- Orange: New words you haven't categorized yet
- Yellow: Words you need to learn
- Green: Words you're familiar with
- No highlight: Words you've mastered
- Words like punctuation and numbers are automatically ignored
- Click on any word to see its translation and update its status.
- In the word popup, you can mark the word as:
- To Learn: Words you need to study
- Familiar: Words you recognize but aren't confident with
- Learnt: Words you know well
- Ignore: Words you don't want to track (like names of people or locations, foreign words, or technical terms)
- A progress bar at the bottom of each text shows how many words you've learned.
Managing Your Vocabulary
- Go to the Words tab to see all the words you've encountered.
- Here you can:
- Add new words directly using the form at the top
- See translations of words you've added
- Add notes to help remember context or usage
- Update the status of any word
- Delete words you no longer want to track
- When adding a new word, the app will automatically show its translation as you type.
Learning Tips
- Start with short texts like news headlines or simple paragraphs.
- Focus on frequency - work on common words first.
- Update word status regularly as you become more familiar with them.
- Add notes to words with special usage or that are easy to confuse.
- Review your Words list regularly to reinforce your vocabulary.
Tracking Your Progress
- Each text shows the percentage of words you've learned.
- When you mark words as "Learnt," the progress across all your texts will update.
- The more texts you add, the more comprehensive your vocabulary tracking becomes.
